Hope Street Feast

About the Project

The sPark It Team have been working with stakeholders on Hope St, including The Pen Factory, to start planning the revival of a legendary Liverpool Event. The Hope Street Feast was a highlight of the autumn, coinciding with the launch of the new new theatre season, and featured a weekend full of food, music, arts and entertainment.

Our idea is to provide pop-up installations scattered at key moments along the street to compliment other activities from primary stakeholders. These installations could be provided for primary stakeholders, or could provide platforms for third party stakeholders to engage in the street. Installations could be temporary or semi-permanent + mobile so that they can be redeployed elsewhere.

Outcomes

We’d like to open up the design of the installations by pairing up potential primary and third party stakeholders with interested architects and/or students. This might help engender a Venice Biennale  – with punchy installations to show off local design talent that could then be redeployed around the city where appropriate.

In terms of the actual popups, we would like to focus on either complete reuse or complete circularity, so materials aren’t wasted for the event.

This project is still in the discussion phase, although we are very excited at the prospect of bringing this one to life!
